MEETING MINUTES-Monday, April 7,

The meeting was
called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairperson Del South.
Roll Call

#080407-01 – Approval
of the minutes of the December 11,
2007 Election Commission meeting.
Moved by Richard VanderKlok, seconded by Dale Mohr, to approve the minutes as presented.
MOTION CARRIED.
#080407-02 – Appoint Election Workers
Moved by Dale Mohr, seconded by Richard VanderKlok, to approve appointing election workers as presented for the May 6, 2008 School Election.
MOTION CARRIED.
#080407-03 - Appoint Receiving Board Members
Moved by Del South, seconded by Dale Mohr, to approve appointing Receiving Board workers as presented for the May 6, 2008 School Election
MOTION CARRIED.
#080407-04 - Change Precinct Polling Locations for Precincts 8 and 9 after the May 6, 2008 Election
Moved by Dale Mohr, seconded by Richard VanderKlok, to recommend to the Township Board to approve a resolution to change the precinct polling locations of precinct 8 and 9 after the May 6, 2008 School Election. Precinct 8 will move to First Jenison Christian Reformed Church, 8360 Cottonwood Dr., Jenison, MI. Precinct 9 will move to Chapel Pointe 3350 Baldwin St., Hudsonville, MI.
Note: The reason is because the current locations are not large enough to accommodate
the number of voters expected to turn out for the elections after May

#080407-05 - Other Business
a. It is not necessary to act on the pay for the school election workers because it has been established since 2005 in the contract signed by the Clerk and the school districts as $11.00 per hour for all workers and an additional $25 for the chairs. Chairs make an additional $25 if there are no mistakes in their canvass material.
b. The pay rate has already been established as $25 per the whole session for the “Hands-On” training school (no mileage reimbursement).
c. The pay rate has already been established as $80 per each Receiving Board member (other than a Township employee).
d. There will not be an Absentee Counting Board for the School Election.
