Dear Georgetown Township Board:

The following activities were successfully completed at the Georgetown Township Senior Center during the month of August, 2005:

 

Education and Health:

·        Blood Pressure Screen with Judy Boven, R.N. from Oak Crest Manors - 45 participants

·        Trim Class for weight management -150 participants

·        Exercise Class with Fitness Instructor Cathy Walker -173 participants

·        Senior Olympics – 12 participants

 

 

Nutritional Services:

·        Home Delivered Meals to Seniors - 279 meals delivered

·        Senior Center Meals - 432 meals served

·        Total meals provided for Georgetown Township Seniors - 711

·        Commodities (Federal program) - 48 recipients

·        TEFAP, Federal Emergency Food Program - 73 participants

·        Transportation to Meijer, grocery shopping – 32 participants

 

 

Trips:

·        Picnic at Millenium Park – 40 participants

·        Circle Theatre, “Beauty and the Beast” – 27 participants

·        Car Show at 12th Ave. CRC – 7 participants

·        Hudsonville’s Summer Concert – 13 participants

·        Saugatuck Dune Rides – 17 participants

·        Bach Lunch – 8 participants

 

 

Spiritual Services:

·        Bible Study, lessons in the Book of Zachariah with a different local Pastor each week –

157 participants

 

 

 

 

Special Events:

·        Monthly Potluck - 41 participants

 

 

Social and Recreational:

·        Watercolor Class - 39 participants

·        Cards - 62 participants

·        Breakfast Bingo -21 participants

·        Pool Players – 79 participants

·        Table Tennis Players – 12 participants

·        Computer Use – 4 participants

·        Computer Class – 12 participants

 

 

I participated in the following meetings during the month of August:

·        Local Advisory Committee Quarterly Meeting for Transportation

·        Ottawa County Community Action Agency Monitoring Meeting – Evaluation of program and services for grant of $3,000.00

·        Ottawa County Specialized Services Transportation Committee

 

 

Georgetown Township Transportation - Specialized Services:

·        Total rides provided in August: 1,478

 

 

Total units of service provided by the Georgetown Senior Center and Transportation program:  3,311
