2006 February Report

DPW Department

 

 

  1. The new Baldor Generator has been outfitted and is now in operation.  It is a great asset during times of power outages.

 

  1. A new 2006 pickup truck has been ordered and is scheduled for delivery by the end of March.  The 2006 will replace a 1999 model with approximately 70,000 miles on it.  A 4 x 4 was ordered to increase the efficiency of the inspector at construction sites.

 

  1. The Water/Sewer Township Specification Book is in the final stages of updating with the latest revisions.  When complete it will be reprinted and placed on line for contractors review and compliance.

 

  1. The Water Cross Connection Program is progressing well.  This is a continual year around program.

 

  1. Several projects to be worked on this spring and summer are:

 

    • hydrant painting
    • valve exercise program
    • cul-de-sac hydrant flushing
    • inter-connect and dead-end hydrant flushing
    • water tank internal inspections
    • GT 8 asphalt expansion

 

  1. During the month of February we had:

 

    • 3 hydrants hit with auto accidents
    • 1 water main break
    • 121 new homes under construction
    • 14 new water meters installed
    • 10 new sewer connections
    • 39 final readings of water meters for home sales
