2006 March Report

  1. The Water/Sewer Township Specification Book has been completed in its updates and is now on line at the township website.  Per comments by various engineers and contractors, it is being used already.

  1. The new GT9 Meter/Booster Station is now in the construction phase.  Most of the underground piping is in place and the foundation is scheduled to be poured the week of April 3 through 7.  Construction is scheduled to be complete by the end of May.

  1. The new 2006 water and sewer pickup truck has not arrived as yet, but is expected any time.

  1. GT4 Sunningdale Booster Station has had a frequency drive installed on the pump motors.  The goals are:

    1. increase pump efficiency
    2. decrease wear on motor and increase motor life
    3. decrease electric usage

  1. The meter at GT2 has been removed for recalibration and any repairs if necessary.  This will take a couple of weeks to discover the cost and best direction to proceed.

  1. The Distribution System and Collection System Maps are being updated by Prein & Newhof Engineers.  The first draft of the Collection System is in the office and is a great improvement.  We are looking forward to the final product.

  1. It looks like the construction season will be greatly reduced from years past due to the housing market.  However, many other projects are being pursued and hope to be completed this year.  Many of these projects were presented in February’s report.
