Dear Georgetown Township Board:

The following activities were successfully completed at the Georgetown Township Senior Center during the month of May, 2006:

Education and Health:

·        Blood Pressure Screen with Judy Boven, R.N. from Oak Crest Manors - 50 participants

·        Trim Class for weight management – 112 participants

·        Exercise Class with Fitness Instructor Cathy Walker – 169 participants

·        Computer Class – 40 participants

·        Gentiva – 18 participants

 

Nutritional Services:

·        Total meals provided for Georgetown Township Seniors – 387 at center, 220 home delivered

·        Commodities – 43 recipients

·        TEFAP – 71 participants

·        Transportation to Meijer for grocery shopping – 38 participants

 

Trips:

·        Perrigo Store – 16 participants

·        Fricano’s – 24 participants

·        Bach Lunch – 19 participants

·        Evergreen/Tulip Time – 19 participants

·        La Traviata – 19

·        Oliver – 27

·        For Heaven’s Sake – 29 participants

·        Book of Job – 12 participants

·        Lunch Bunch to Trestle Stop  – 18 participants

·        Mid-day Music at Park Church - 12 participants

 

Spiritual Services:

·        Bible Study: Lessons on the book of Joshua, led by different local Pastors each week – 137 participants


Special Events:

·        Monthly Potluck - 33 participants

·        Breakfast Bingo – 25 participants

·        Mother & Daughter Tea – 27 participants

·        Memorial Day Parade – 6 participants

·        Natalie’s Farewell - 75 participants

 

Social and Recreational:

·        Watercolor Class - 58 participants

·        Quilting – 19 participants

·        Cards - 34 participants

·        Crafts – 7 participants

·        Pool Players – 56 participants

·        Ping Pong – 10 participants

·        BUNCO Players – 26 participants

·        Therapeutic Recreation Group – 80 participants

 

Georgetown Township Transportation – Ottawa County Specialized Services:

·        Total rides provided in April – 1,563

 

Total units of service provided by the Georgetown Senior Center program:  3,392
