12.4 Personal Leave
a.)
Full time
employees shall be entitled to personal leave with pay each year and based upon
the following schedule:

than 10 full years 2.0/month 1.83/month
b.) Personal Leave checks will be issued
during the regular pay period at the employee's rate of pay at that time. Direct deposit is available for employees who
will be on vacation on a scheduled pay day, but must be arranged in advance.
c.) Any personal leave accumulated over 20 days will
be lost as of 20 5
days will be lost as of December 31st, each subsequent year. All eligible employees must arrange for their
leave in advance of the date. All
vacations must first be authorized by the Township Supervisor or his/her designee.
d.) No compensation will be paid for
personal leave not taken.
e.) Any employee who was terminated because
of work rule violations or for poor job performance would not be eligible to
receive any of their accrued personal leave.
f.)
Absences for
illness, injury, funerals,
doctor, dentist and other personal appointments shall be charged to personal
leave.
a.) All full time employees shall start each
calendar year with a total of eight (8) sick days following their first year of
employment
.
b.) Up to five (5) days of unused sick leave
may be carried over to the next year.
c.) Sick leave is to be used for legitimate,
non work-related personal illness or injury.
Sick leave may also be used for illness or injury of a member of the
employee's immediate family, or illness or injury of a permanent member of the
employee's household provided all vacation and personal time has been used
first. Sick leave may not be used for
vacations, holidays, or for any other paid time-off purpose.
d.) The Township shall have the right to
require medical substantiation for sick leave used and for the employee's
ability to return to work.
e.) In case of incapacitating injury or
illness for which the employee is or may be eligible for disability benefits
under the Worker's Compensation Law of the State of Michigan, such employee
shall be allowed such wage payments which, with his/her compensation benefit
and weekly disability benefits, equal his/her regular wage, his/her sick leave
days shall be cancelled proportionately to the Township's contribution. Upon exhaustion of his/her sick leave bank,
the employee shall draw only those benefits as are allowable under the Worker's
Compensation Law.
12.4B
a.) In addition to the above accumulated
personal leave, full time employees will be paid for the following holidays:
New
Year’s Day Memorial
Day
4th
of July Labor
Day
Thanksgiving Christmas
