Dear Georgetown Township Board:

The following activities were successfully completed at the Georgetown Township Senior Center during the month of August, 2006:

 

Education and Health:

·        Blood Pressure Screen with Judy Boven, R.N. from Oak Crest Manors - 40 participants

·        Trim Class for weight management -123 participants

·        Exercise Class with Fitness Instructor Cathy Walker -147 participants

 

 

Nutritional Services:

·        Home Delivered Meals to Seniors - 380 meals delivered

·        Senior Center Meals - 377 meals served

·        Total meals provided for Georgetown Township Seniors - 757

·        Commodities (Federal program) - 39 recipients

·        TEFAP, Federal Emergency Food Program - 53 participants

·        Transportation to Meijer, grocery shopping –40 participants

 

 

Trips:

·        Picnic at John Ball Park– 31 participants

·        Circle Theatre, “Boys Next Door” – 25 participants

·        Women’s City Club – 7 participants

·        Hudsonville’s Summer Concert –8 participants

·        Hudsonville Fair– 7 participants

·        Bach Lunch – 13 participants

·        St. Cecilia’s – 18

·        Holland Market – 11

·        Lunch Bunch to Saugatuck – 25

·        Cornerstone URC Concert - 8

 

 

 

Spiritual Services:

·        Bible Study, lessons in the Book of James with a different local Pastor each week –

165 participants

 

 

 

 

Social and Recreational:

·        Watercolor Class - 41 participants

·        Cards - 40 participants

·        Breakfast Bingo -29 participants

·        Pool Players –68 participants

·        Table Tennis Players –8 participants

·        Computer Use – 4 participants

·        Bunco–24 participants

 

 

I participated in the following meetings during the month of August:

·        Meeting with Macatawa Bank, Spartan Stores, Sheldon Meadows, Lake Michigan Credit union, Waterford Place, Sunset Manors in regards to transportation and fund raising

·        Kentwood Recreation in creating a joint deluxe motor coach trip program.

·        To date we have raised $1,505.00 for the bus fund.

 

 

Georgetown Township Transportation - Specialized Services:

·        Total rides provided in August: 1,478

 

 

Total units of service provided by the Georgetown Senior Center and Transportation program:  3,211
