2006 NOVEMBER REPORT

DPW DEPARTMENT

 

 

 

1.     Bids are being solicited to refurbish three sewer manholes, which are being degraded by sewer gases.  Bids are to be awarded by December 15, 2006.  Also, two sewers were repaired, which were also found damaged during our sewer televising project this year.

 

2.     Bids are being solicited for seal replacement for GT1 Booster Pump Station.

 

3.     During the month of December all food service businesses will be inspected for grease trap compliance.  We will be checking into if they need a grease trap, if they have a grease trap, do they need service, etc.

 

4.      Bids will be solicited for a new DPW pickup truck to be awarded in January 2007.

 

5.     Discussions are being held with Jamestown Township, City of Hudsonville and Ottawa County in relation to the off ramp and 36”sewer trunk main.  Prein & Newhof have been retained to do a study on the sewer in relation to replacement, adding to the existing sewer or refurbishing existing sewer in light of the condition and weight of the off ramp.
