Dear Georgetown Township Board:

The following activities were successfully completed at the Georgetown Township Senior Center during the month of November, 2006:

 

Education and Health:

·        Blood Pressure Screen with Judy Boven, R.N. from Oak Crest Manors - 56 participants

·        Trim Class for weight management – 111 participants

·        Exercise Class with Fitness Instructor Cathy Walker – 105 participants

·        Macatawa Bank– 25 participants

 

 

Nutritional Services:

·        Home Delivered Meals to Seniors - 274 meals delivered

·        Senior Center Meals – 384 meals served

·        Total meals provided for Georgetown Township Seniors -  658

·        Commodities –42 recipients

·        Transportation to Meijer for grocery shopping – 30 participants

 

 

Trips:

·        Lunch Bunch to Red Sun Buffet –25participants

·        Rotary’s Travelogue –9 participants

·        Bach Lunch – 16 participants

·        Dollar Tree in Charlotte – 20 participants

·        Ford Museum – 9 participants

·        “Wizard of Oz” at the Civic Theatre – 14 participants

·        Music at Mid-Day- 8 participants

·        Perrigo – 16 participants

·        Uh-Oh, Here Comes Christmas – 19 participants

·        “Autumn in the Valley” at Grand Valley – 14 participants

·        GVSU Concert – 9 participants

 

 

Spiritual Services:

·        Bible Study, lessons in the book of Ephesians with a different local Pastor each week – 123

 participants

 

 

Special Events:

·        Monthly Potluck - 34 participants

·        Thanksgiving Party –84 participants

 

 

Social and Recreational:

·        Watercolor Class - 66 participants

·        Quilting – 14 participants

·        Cards - 24 participants

·        Breakfast Bingo –35 participants

·        Pool Players –  71 participants

·        Table Tennis Players –6 participants

·        BUNCO Players –8 participants

·        Therapeutic Recreation Group –80 participants

·        Craft Bee – 8 participants

 

 

I participated in the following meetings during the month of November:

·        TEFAP Coordinators Meeting

·        Sears Optical

·        Kathy Newland –Volunteer sponsorship coordinator

 

Georgetown Township Transportation – Ottawa County Specialized Services:

·        Total rides provided in November – 1,388 passengers

 

 

Total units of service provided by the Georgetown Senior Center and Transportation program:  3,156
