The following activities were successfully completed at the Georgetown Township Senior Center during the month of November, 2007:

 

Education and Health:

·        Blood Pressure Screen with Judy Boven, R.N. from Oak Crest Manors - 49 participants

·        Trim Class for weight management – 94 participants

·        Exercise Class with Fitness Instructor Cathy Walker – 97 participants

·        Hearing Clinic– 9 participants

·        Mobility Seminar – 30 participants

·        Medicare Seminar – 26 participants

·        Beacon Hill seminar – 26 participants

·        Yoga/Pilates – 29 participants

·        Computers – 16 participants

 

 

Nutritional Services:

·        Home Delivered Meals to Seniors - 148 meals delivered

·        Senior Center Meals – 376 meals served

·        Commodities –42 recipients

·        Transportation to Meijer for grocery shopping – 32 participants

·        Family fare – 3 participants

 

 

Trips:

·        Lunch Bunch to Golden Corral –39 participants

·        Rotary’s Travelogue –19 participants

·        Dollar Tree in Grandville – 9 participants

·        Sheldon Meadows Tour  – 36 participants

·        “Sound of Music” at the Civic Theatre – 50 participants

·        Music at Mid-Day- 7 participants

·        “Godspell” – 11 participants

·        Turkeyville – 15 participants

·        Younkers – 4 participants

·        GVSU Concert – 9 participants

·        Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe – 20 participants

·        Rich Ridenour Concert – 12 participants

·        Wallinwood Springs Brunch – 7 participants

 

Spiritual Services:

·        Bible Study, lessons in the book of Ephesians with a different local Pastor each week – 156

 participants

 

 

Special Events:

·        Monthly Potluck - 39 participants

·        Thanksgiving Party –100 participants

 

 

Social and Recreational:

·        Watercolor Class - 46 participants

·        Quilting – 12 participants

·        Cards - 32 participants

·        Breakfast Bingo –30 participants

·        Pool Players –  71 participants

·        Table Tennis Players –8 participants

·        BUNCO Players –27 participants

·        Therapeutic Recreation Group –80 participants

 

 

I participated in the following meetings during the month of November:

·        Joyce with Angel Care

·        Younkers to sell books

·        Kathy Newland –Volunteer sponsorship coordinator

·        Gil WCET

·        Kendall Klinglesmith Kentwood Recreation

·        Driver’s Meeting with guys and Jeff Porter who is retiring

·        Lee Soderquist from Beacon Hill

·        Terry Blanding Spartan Foods

·        Ron Buit Macatawa Bank

 

Georgetown Township Transportation – Ottawa County Specialized Services:

·        Total rides provided in November – 1,602 passengers

 

 

Total units of service provided by the Georgetown Senior Center and Transportation program:  3,418

                                                           

 

Our Transportation numbers are up almost 300 rides more than last year at this time.  We are looking forward to the Christmas season and the beauty surrounding us.  Thank you for your support.
