Becky is a graduate of Jenison Public Schools and Grand Valley
State University. She holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a
master's degree in special education. Becky is employed by Jenison Public
Schools, where she spent ten years as a fifth and sixth grade classroom teacher
before transitioning to her current position as an TK-6th grade STEM (science,
technology, engineering and math) teacher. Becky serves on the JPS Sex
Education Advisory Committee and is a certified CPR and First Aid instructor
through the American Red Cross.
Becky and her husband,
Preston, are happily raising their three young children in the same
neighborhood, church and school communities that Becky has always called
"home". While her busy family, career and position on the
Georgetown Township Board seem to leave little time for hobbies, she enjoys
volunteering in her children's classrooms, spending time with her extended
family and close friends, reading, camping, baking, and relaxing by the pool
whenever possible.
Becky cites a love for this
community, an interest in government and politics at all levels, a strong sense
of civic duty and a desire to serve as the reasons she first ran for Trustee in
2016. She is thankful for the opportunity to serve the people of Georgetown
Township in this way.
