Georgetown Township Fire Department

MISSION: To provide the highest level of life safety and property protection through prevention, suppression and education of the residents of Georgetown Township.  The Fire Department adheres to the following values: Respect, Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, and Service.

STAFFING   -   The Georgetown Township Fire Department is a paid on call department consisting of 50+ firefighting personnel. The fire chief, fire inspector, and department maintenance personnel are full time positions and keep normal business hours.

ISO Rating = 4   -   In November 2014 the Georgetown Fire Department's ISO rating was upgraded to 4. ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an independent, non-governmental membership organization.  ISO evaluates municipal fire-protection efforts in communities throughout the United States. A community's investment in fire mitigation is a proven and reliable predictor of future fire losses. ISO’s Public Protection Classification (PPC™) information plays an important part in the decisions insurers make affecting the underwriting and pricing of property insurance. So insurance companies use PPC information to help establish fair premiums for fire insurance — generally offering lower premiums in communities with better protection. Many communities use the PPC as a benchmark for measuring the effectiveness of their fire-protection services. The PPC program is also a tool that helps communities plan for, budget, and justify improvements.
