Where Does Your Water Come From?


The Township purchases water from the City of Wyoming and sewage treatment services from the City of Grandville. The Township is one of 10 wholesale customers on the Wyoming water system and Georgetown comprises 15-21% of the total usage, with a higher rate during the summer months. All water is produced from Lake Michigan by the City of Wyoming.

A water reliability study conducted by the City of Wyoming in 2023 found that the water system is rapidly heading toward unsustainable capacity levels and steps to account for area growth and increased demand will need to be taken sooner rather than later. The plan calls for a number of infrastructure updates leading to an eventual plant expansion project projected for 2034.
