John and his wife, Pam, have lived in Georgetown Township over 30 years. They have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. Over the years John and Pam have been active at church, the Jenison Public Schools, community athletics, Rotary, and the Grandville/Jenison Chamber of Commerce. John was president of the Jenison Hockey Association and helped establish the Georgetown Community Ice Center.

John has a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education/Marketing and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership/Management. John is an adjunct professor at Davenport University and GRCC, facilitating Management and Marketing courses. John enjoys education and was Teacher of the Year for Grandville Public Schools where he teaches business classes. John was an apprentice jeweler and has been active in the business/industry for many years. His hobbies include: trout fishing, kayaking, hunting, hiking, playing with his grandchildren and teaching driver's education. John serves on the Services Committee.
