Thank you for your interest in having the Georgetown Fire Department attend your upcoming event. Our fire prevention program aims to make as many community events as possible to promote and educate the public about the services we offer to our community. We appreciate the opportunity to share our knowledge and resources with you. We can attend school events, daycares, church functions, block parties, and organized public events. We also offer tours of the fire station. We are not able to attend birthday day parties due to staffing.
To evaluate whether we can attend your event or provide a tour, we need your application a minimum of 2 weeks before the event
We typically aim to provide two personnel and a fire truck for each event, but this may vary based on the specific needs of the occasion. Once we have received your information, we will review our fire prevention calendar and confirm our availability for your event. Please note that our firefighters have full-time jobs and work for the fire department on-call, so staffing can sometimes be a challenge for events.
If we confirm our attendance for your event, we will post it on our internal calendar and look for staff to help with your event. We kindly request that you email our coordinator Todd Hower (thower@georgetown-mi.gov) a week prior to your event to confirm our attendance, ensure that we have adequate staffing available, and to finalize plans.
